A full kitchen renovation in a Dubai apartment, where a worn, dark galley kitchen was rebuilt into a sleek handleless space with a warm high-gloss finish. The project focused on maximising storage along a narrow single-wall layout, replacing every surface and fitting, and using layered lighting to make a compact kitchen feel calm, bright and open.

The original kitchen had not been updated since handover. Dark, heavily worn timber cabinetry ran floor to ceiling along one wall, dated aluminium handle strips cut across the doors, and a dark speckled granite worktop with a drop-in stainless steel sink absorbed most of the light in the room. Beige wall tiles and a single ceiling fitting left the narrow galley feeling closed in and tired, despite the window and its city view.
TAM Living rebuilt the kitchen as a fully handleless push-to-open scheme in a warm taupe high-gloss lacquer, with full-height storage columns replacing the old tall units and appliance housings concealed behind matching fronts. A marble-effect quartz worktop with a matching slab upstand runs the length of the counter, finished with an undermount basin and a matte black pull-down mixer. Warm LED strip lighting was concealed above the window recess, recessed spotlights and black track lighting were added to a rebuilt ceiling, and polished large-format porcelain flooring was laid throughout — while the original timber door frames were retained to keep the kitchen in step with the rest of the apartment.
The result is a calm, reflective and highly practical kitchen. The gloss fronts and pale worktop carry light down the full length of a narrow galley, storage capacity increased without changing the footprint, and every surface was chosen to wipe clean easily for everyday use.
