What we do
Look at where the kitchen meets the wall.
That is where you can tell a fitted kitchen from a kitchen that was fitted. Standard units come in fixed widths, and no room in Dubai happens to be an exact multiple of them — so the gap at the end gets covered with a filler panel, usually 40 to 120mm of blank board doing no work at all. Multiply that by both ends of the base run and both ends of the wall run and you have lost a usable cupboard to trim.
We build the end units to whatever width the room leaves over, so the run meets both walls with a scribe rather than a panel. Where the wall is out of square — most Dubai apartments are, by 20 to 40mm across a three-metre run — the cabinet behind the scribe absorbs it instead of the eye seeing a tapering gap. That is only possible because we make the units ourselves, from measurements taken off the actual walls, after the old kitchen is out.
The same applies vertically. A fitted kitchen runs to the ceiling, not to a standard 2,150mm and then a dust gap. Where the ceiling is not level — and it rarely is — the top of the run is scribed to follow it. You get the storage and you lose the shadow line that makes a kitchen look installed rather than built in.

Dubai walls are rarely straight. The unit is cut to follow the wall so the joint stays a consistent line instead of opening into a wedge.
Ceiling-height runs
Tall units to the slab, scribed along an uneven ceiling. The dust gap becomes real storage — usually a cupboard’s worth per run.
Worktops templated in place
The stone is measured after the units are set, not cut from a drawing, so the back edge follows the wall and needs a line of sealant rather than a bead.

FAQs
What is the difference between a fitted kitchen and a modular kitchen?
A modular kitchen is built from standard-sized units assembled into a layout — quicker and cheaper, with filler panels closing the gaps at the ends. A fitted kitchen is made to the measurements of your room, so it runs wall to wall with nothing blank. Modular suits a square room with standard dimensions; fitted suits everything else, which in Dubai is most rooms.
Why do standard kitchens need filler panels?
Because units come in fixed widths — 300, 400, 500, 600mm and so on — and your wall is whatever length it is. Whatever is left over at the end gets covered with a blank panel. It is not bad workmanship; it is the only option when the units were made before anyone measured the room.
How much storage do I actually gain?
It depends on the room, but two fillers at 80mm each plus a 350mm dust gap above the wall units is roughly a full cupboard’s worth of space in a typical apartment kitchen. In a galley, where every millimetre is contested, the difference is more noticeable than the number suggests.
Do fitted kitchens cost more?
Somewhat, because the end units are made individually rather than pulled from stock. The difference is smaller than most people expect, and you are buying storage rather than trim. We give you both options priced at the site visit so you can decide with the numbers in front of you.
Can a fitted kitchen work in a small apartment?
It is where fitted matters most. In a compact kitchen the fillers and the dust gap are a large share of the available storage, so removing them changes how the room works rather than just how it looks. See our small kitchen renovation page for the layouts that gain the most.
Can you fit around a column or a sloped soffit?
Yes — that is the whole point of making the units ourselves. Columns, bulkheads, sloped soffits and service boxings get built around rather than boxed off, which usually recovers storage a standard run would have abandoned.
